Subject:Medical marijuana question
Posted by:chaosphaere.
Time:6:48 pm.
(xposted in various places)

Question for folks...

I don't smoke pot. But I'm around it five days a week, a few times a day. I'm an in-home caregiver for a man who uses medical marijuana. My job involves administering his medication to him, so I administer his medical marijuana as well. This involves filling/lighting the pipe, and holding it while he takes a hit. I wear gloves while doing this, but the smoke most often does waft my way.

I *have* occasionally gotten a slight buzz after helping my consumer with his pipe, and I have frequently come home smelling like a pot farm, according to my significant other. How much pot actually has to get into your system to test positive?

My livelihood absolutely depends upon me not having a positive drug test; I'm hoping to get work with a hospital or ambulance service. If what I'm doing is going to make me test positive, I need to find another job.

How long do I have to have had zero exposure before I'll get an acceptable result? If they're going to use a hair test, how long do I have to have been "drug-free" before I can get a job?

I'd love to hear I can stay at my present job if I can. It's as tough to find a good consumer as it is for a consumer to find a good caregiver. Some consumers can be real jerks.

A new rating community. But this one is different, This community is for stoners, drug users, and drinkers. A lot of these rating communities are a bunch of straight edge people who say no just because you do drugs. For the ones who do the damn do.

hi all. new member thought i'd say hello and introduce myself a bit
my names catherine, or kittie, either ones fine. im 16 and as of right now i live in northern virgin/DC. i guess you could say i do every drug in the book. im huge into the whole club drug scene, especially b/c i rave. i love E, acid, shrooms, K, ect. im a huge mary jane user and im on about 4 diffrent committies/protest groups that are supporting the medicinal use of marijuana. ive do cocaine on occassion and i used to do tons of DXM. i cant take any more though. i overdosed on coricidine/robitusin last thanksgiving and had a horrible experience trying to recover. ive almost stopped popping pills entirely. i still do on occassion, but im a lot better when it comes to popping.
as for heroine i use it a lot but after basically watching a close friend of mine ruin her life b/c of it, ive realized just how serious heroine is. she od'd and as result lost an arm b/c her veins had collapsed. i need help quitting heroine because im afraid of what it could do to me. before my friend lost her arm, we'd shoot together and love our trip. but now every time, i shoot by myself and every time i do it scares me. i cant stop, but i know i need to , i was just wondering if anyone ahs any advice to help me quit heroine?

Subject:something for YOU
Posted by:eastcoasttoker.

This summer, the eyes of the world will be on New York City during the Republican National Convention. We'd like to give you the opportunity to show your friends and family what New Yorkers have seen for more than 30 years -- the incredible social and racial injustice that is our state's Rockefeller Drug Laws.

These draconian laws have put far too many people -- most of them people of color -- in contact with the criminal justice system. We have a chance this year for real reform, but lawmakers need to hear from you.

Please view our fantastic Flash animation athttp://www.realreform2004.org/flash/
and pass this along to as many people as you can.

Thank you!

Take Action Now!

As you are probably aware by now, today, June 4, is a national day of
action for medical marijuana. NORML has teamed up with the Marijuana
Policy Project, the Drug Policy Alliance and others to coordinate actions
at over 110 Congressional district offices around the country. These
actions will focus on educating members of Congress who voted against the
Hinchey/Rohrabacher Amendment last year, which would have prevented the
DEA and Justice Department from interfering in states with medical
marijuana laws.

NORML expects that this amendment will come up for a vote again this year,
hopefully by the end of this month. While last year's amendment failed by
a vote of 273 - 152, we are confident that this year we can convince many
members to change their vote this time around, but we need your help!

Since most NORML supporters cannot attend one of these local actions, we
are asking all of you to please call your members of Congress today and
voice your support for the Hinchey/Rohrabacher Amendment. To be connected
to your Representative's office, simply call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard
at 202-224-3121.

Please tell your member of Congress that it is vital that they support the
Hinchey/Rohrabacher Amendment when it comes up for a vote later this
month. Be sure to stress that this vote would not legalize medical
marijuana, but it would simply prevent the federal government from
interfering in states that already have medical marijuana laws on the

To find out how your Representative voted last year, visit:

If you do not have time to call, please take two minutes to write your
member of Congress and urge their support of the Hinchey/Rohrabacher
Amendment by visiting:

Thank you for your support on this important issue. With your help we can
be certain that medical marijuana patients in the nine medical marijuana
states no longer have to fear arrest or prosecution at the hands of the
federal government.

Hi. My name's sheena. I'm not really big into drugs, I smoke pot, but that's about it. A few pain killers now and then, but nothing big.

I was actually coming to you all with a question:

If anyone in here does crack or heroine [which i've seen a few of you do/have] what would be the one thing that did/ would make you stop?

you see, both my brother and mother do both crack and heroine, as well as every other drug they can get ahold of. it drives me insane.

when i was born, from what i've been told, i was addicted to crack, coke, heroine, E, crystal meth, alcohol, acid and marijuana.

before i even started doing drugs personally, they had fucking with my life and mind.

my parents owed about $6'000 total to a few dealers, and after they realized they had a 7 year old daughter, they began to sell me...my body, as a way to make money.

we're still thousands of dollars in debt, and i know it's probably a hopeless cause, but i need them to stop. for their sake and mine.

they're killing themselves, and me as well.

so, i'm asking again... what would make you stop doing what you do? either from experience or what you think would happen in your situation... what would cause you to make yourself stop?
